Two new websites?
Welcome to Our New Websites — Why We Built Two and How to Use Them
We’re excited to officially launch not one, but two new websites — and if you’re wondering why, let me break it down.
Envision Charlotte is the nonprofit organization — the engine behind everything we do. It’s where our mission lives, where you’ll find information about our history, our community impact, and the partnerships that have helped us grow over the years. This site gives the big-picture view of who we are and why we exist.
Then there’s the Innovation Barn — which is the physical building that houses many of our programs, projects, and tenants. It’s also the most public-facing part of our organization — the place where people visit, engage, and see the circular economy in action.
Because of that, the Innovation Barn website is designed as a roadmap to everything happening inside the Barn. You’ll find dedicated sections for each of our programs and initiatives — from Crown Town Compost and our glass recycling program to education efforts and field trips. As new programs are developed, they’ll get their own space on the site too. It’s meant to grow right alongside our work and serve as the go-to resource for what’s happening day-to-day.
While everything falls under Envision Charlotte, it made sense to have the Innovation Barn site be the one we update most frequently — because that’s where the action is! Meanwhile, the Envision Charlotte website will focus on the organization itself — our history, mission, and big-picture projects.
We hope this makes it easier for everyone — whether you’re curious about who we are or looking for details on specific programs — to find what you’re looking for. Take a look around and let us know what you think. We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to share more with you soon!
